Apple, Fontina, & Prosciutto Crostini

Serves: 6-8

 

Ingredients

    • 1 baguette, thinly sliced
    • Extra virgin olive oil
    • Salt and pepper
    • ¼ lb. fontina, thinly sliced (substitute Havarti)
    • 1 apple, thinly sliced (we recommendCortland, EverCrisp®, or McIntosh
    • 1 bunch basil, leaves picked, stems discarded
    • ½ lb. prosciutto, thinly sliced

    Directions

      1. Preheat oven to 375º F. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over slices. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top, then bake for 15-18 minutes, until golden and crisp.
      2. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
      3. Meanwhile, cut prosciutto slices in half lengthwise.
      4. Arrange crostini on a platter and top with cheese, a small basil leaf, and a slice of apple. Wrap prosciutto around the whole crostino.
      5. Drizzle olive oil over top and garnish with basil.
