Apple Cider Margaritas
Serves: 8
Ingredients
- 1 apple, cored, half diced and half thinly sliced (we recommend EverCrisp®, Fuji, Honeycrisp, or SweeTango®)
- 12 oz. (1½ cups) blanco tequila
- 4 oz. (½ cup) orange liqueur
- 16 oz. (2 cups) apple cider
- 6 oz. (¾ cup) fresh squeezed lime juice
- Sliced lime
- Optional: ¼ cup light maple syrup
- Garnish (Optional): kosher salt + lime zest or sugar + apple pie spice (for the rim); cinnamon stick, fresh herbs, sliced apple and lime
Directions
- Prepare a shallow dish with either kosher salt and lime zest or sugar and apple pie spice. Run a slice of lime over the rim of 8 cocktail glasses and roll outer edges in the salt or sugar mixture. Try not to get anything on the inside of the glass.
- In a pitcher, add about half the apple, sliced, and muddle to release the natural juices.
- Add tequila, orange liqueur, apple cider, fresh lime juice, and maple syrup. Stir to mix ingredients and dissolve syrup, then add a few handfuls of ice.
- Fill glasses about halfway with ice. Stir mixture again before straining over each glass. Garnish with a thinly sliced apple and lime wedge.
